A private university in Argentina aims to evaluate teleworking in non-teaching activities to improve the administrative and academic functioning of the Faculty of Engineering. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the need to implement teleworking as an alternative solution to existing challenges has increased, and the institution is considering consolidating teleworking as a new valid method of work organization for non-teaching staff. A pilot experience of teleworking was carried out with the purpose of evaluating the current situation in terms of productivity and well-being of the personnel involved, as well as establishing the bases for a future implementation of telework as a stable work scheme. The study is based on qualitative research through the application of a diagnostic tool called "Telework Efficiency Index", previously used in various academic and business contexts. The results of the index amount to a score of 4.89046 on a scale of 0 to 10 points. Although the score obtained is somewhat below the average, there are solid indications to push the initiative towards a permanent work scheme. The main finding shows a clear need for change aimed at promoting people's well-being, although the results show a still incipient development of this modality. The study made it possible to design a permanent teleworking scheme for non-teaching staff, contributing an innovative initiative compared to the additional face-to-face model.
